Depp Vs Heard: All About Johnny Depp-Amber Heard's Sensational Public Trial Documentary!

Netflix is unbeatable when it comes to releasing different kinds of documentaries. The new addition to the list this year is Depp V Heard. It focuses on everything that happened in the Johnny Depp Vs Amber Heard Case in 2022.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s separation and divorce grabbed headlines in 2016. It has been a nasty public affair.

Later, Johnny Depp sued Amber Heard for defamation due to an opinion piece she wrote for an online portal in 2018. The trial was held in Fairfax County, Virginia. A team of jury was brought together to bring justice. The court hearings started on April 11, 2022, and ended on June 1, 2022.

Cameras were set up in the court so people could watch it live. As seen in the Depp V Heard trailer, there is footage from the court where Johnny and Amber accuse each other of abuse and wrong behaviour.

But the documentary is not mainly about the court hearings; it focuses more on the public reactions.

The trailer features clips with reactions from various podcasters, influencers, and YouTubers on various social media platforms. Some believe it was a PR stunt, while others have already taken sides before the jury shared their decision.

The official synopsis reads, “Depp v Heard examines the infamous defamation case that captured the world’s attention as the first Trial by TikTok, and questions the nature of truth and the role it plays in our modern society."

The docuseries is directed by Emma Cooper and will have 3 episodes.

Depp V Heard releases on Netflix on August 16, 2023.
