The Uncanny Counter Season 2 Overview

The Uncanny Counter Season 2 (경이로운 소문 2: 카운터 펀치) brings the return of the supernatural mystery comedy-drama of the same name directed by Yoo Seon-dong. The show stars  Cho Kyeong-kyu, Yoo Joon-sang, Kim Se-jeong, Yeom Hye-ran, Ahn Suk-hwan, and Yoo In-soo in the lead roles alongside other cast members.

The new season continues the story of the group of Counters who catch evil spirits from the afterlife who have come in search of immortality. With new members joining the gang and bigger evils coming their way, the Counters are ready for a counterattack and stop anyone who comes their way.

The Uncanny Counter 2 takes over tvN’s Saturday-Sunday 9:20 PM KST time slot previously occupied by See You in My 19th Life.

The Uncanny Counter Season 2 Plot

The synopsis of the show reads, “Armed with new powers and fresh recruits, the Counters continue their battle against evil demons who feed on humans.”

Directed by Yoo Seon-dong, the drama stars Cho Kyeong-kyu, Yoo Joon-sang, Kim Se-jeong, Yeom Hye-ran, Ahn Suk-hwan, and Yoo In-soo alongside other cast members.

Pil-gwang and Gilly notice the peculiarity in Jo-seok and decide to bring him to their side. Meanwhile, Jo-seok himself struggle between the choice kept in front of him. Pil-gwang and Gilly make the plan to release Jo-seok from prison and put forth their plan to make him accept the darkness within.

So Mun saves the day and ends up in a fight with Pil-gwang while Ha-na and Jeok-bong face off Gilly. The Counters soon take the upper hand while Mae-ok brings the Counter’s spirit out of Wong and to Yung. Meanwhile, Jeok-bong ends up losing his powers and decides to leave the Counter.

However, the Counters are not ready to let go of him and try to think of ways to get him back. Suddenly, an incident in the village ends up bringing Jeok-bong’s powers and he gets the chance to perform summon for the first time. Elsewhere, Jo-seok is being taken over by an evil spirit while Pil-gwang and Gilly keep their eyes on So Mun’s powers.

The following day, Jo-seok is put on trial which becomes a mess when he regrets not being able to kill the murderer. However, his behaviour shows that he has been dominated by the spirit.
