Joining the ranks of TXT, CIX, WINNER and X1, ZB1 has become one of the fastest to get a show win past their debut. The In Bloom 1st win is such a monumental moment for both them and other K-pop artists who have been trying to break out into the scene with their own music. While they may have just started their debut era, their reach has gone far, blowing other competitors on the show out of the water. This win comes from the Korean music show titled The Show, and in this episode, the boy band was declared to be ‘The Show Choice.’
Considering the highly competitive nature of this show, the other two opponents in the episode were formidable as well, but they weren’t able to beat the up-and-coming band. KISS OF LIFE and ODD EYE CIRCLE both missed out on getting more points during the original album scores. ZEROBASEONE left them behind by scoring 5000 points. Fortunately, the other two groups managed to catch up to the In Bloom artists’ scores in the other scoring criteria. However, they still fell short of the boy band, who garnered 9350 points, while the other group managed to score a little north of 1000 points.
Their EP titled Youth in the Shade came out just eight days ago, on July 10, 2023. There are six songs on it, including, Back to ZEROBASEONE, In Bloom, New Kidz on the Block, And I, Our Season and Always. This band was formed through MNet’s reality competition, Boys Planet, in 2023. Managed by WAKEONE entertainment agency, this group contains nine members: Kim Ji-woong, Zhang Hao, Sung Han-bin, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, Ricky, Kim Gyu-vin, Park Gun-wook and Han Yu-jin.
This Korean music show has been going on since 2011 and is being aired live every Tuesday on SBS and broadcast from SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Seoul, South Korea. MTV has also partnered with the channel to provide this show being broadcast across 20 countries, including but not limited to France and Japan. This season is being hosted by Xiaojun (WayV), Hyeongseop (Tempest) and Yeosang (Ateez).
The position ZEROBASEONE won was based off the chart data that the show collects every week. However, that is not the only metric they use in order to choose a winner. Contestants are judged based on the broadcast views, digital sales, physical album sales, music video views, voting and online ranking. Leading in all of these factors, the girl group was able to make their way to the top and bag their first win for the single in this show.

Fans were incredibly excited to see the band win in the episode. They have been sharing videos and clips showing the band members crying, referring to how it speaks to their efforts in the music. Even though they may have just debuted and just released their music, they have become ‘rookie legends’ with this win. Joining a very exclusive group of artists who won this early after their music release, fans are even more proud to see this achievement.
