Manifest Season 4 Part 2 Review Contains No Spoilers

After everything that happened in Manifest Season 4 Part 1, the passengers of Flight 828 are held captive in a Detention Centre by the NSA. With the help of Doctor Saanvi, the NSA and government want to monitor and understand the Callings of these passengers. Cal, who is living with Gabriel’s identity, is safe with his sisters Olive and Eden. Being held captive becomes a big issue for Ben, Michaela, Saanvi and others as they can’t do anything to save the world before the Death Date (June 2, 2024).

A lot of Callings and incidents happen that take the passengers and viewers to the end of the mystery. So did the makers finally give us a clear answer about what happened to Flight 828 passengers? Why do they get these Callings, and who is behind this? Do Ben and others succeed in stopping the destruction of the world? Well, yes and no.

Since flight 828 had major turbulence, and the passengers from 2013 were sent to 2018, we only wanted to know what really happened. The Callings and Visions helped the flight passengers save lives; some also walked the wrong path. Ben, Michaela, Saanvi, Cal, Olive, Jared and others have been working relentlessly to seek answers. From science to mythology, they came up with every kind of theory to get answers.

Manifest Final Season 1

In the last two seasons, it took a mythical turn when Angelina entered the show. Discussions of gods, archangels and whatnot were happening. Every possible clue was being connected to different mythologies. We were told that the flight went into divine consciousness, and hence, the passengers were alive and got the guiding voices/visions as a gift. But none of these theories or discussions were explained and executed in the final season.

The last season of Manifest on Netflix was a huge disappointment. It felt like watching season 1 again, where the passengers were treated indifferently, locked up and solving the callings (as they’ve been doing every season). The big science, religious and myth talks were mere fillers to sound intelligent. But if we think about everything happening since season 1, the show completely diverts from the main plot.

Manifest Season 4 Part 2

The series should have answered clearly why, where and how the plane disappeared. Where were the passengers for 5 years? How did they get the gift of Callings? What happened to Bill Dally and Fiona? Why were they brought back only to get killed like they didn’t matter? How did young Cal grow into a teenager? Why is Angelina holding similar powers to Cal? How did Zeke also have the Callings even though he was never on the plane? None of this is answered properly.

Should we simply accept the so-called happy ending the makers have thrown at us? The ending only adds more to the doubts, especially for the people in the 2024 timeline. The script was weak and flawed, and the actors did what they’d been doing since season 1. Only one person had character development in the end, and you will be surprised to know that it is Eagan Tehrani.

Manifest Final Season Review: Final Thoughts

Overall, Manifest Season 4 keeps us hooked only because we have been waiting for answers. But when it ends, it leaves you with a bitter feeling. We feel cheated, and there’s so much more mystery to be solved. All these Callings, and yet none could give us a clear explanation.

  1. Its true. What a mess. Why did the “Divine Consciousness” even do that to these people? Why end the world anyway? How did the passengers facing down the Grim Reaper make the volcanoes stop? How did the Callings actually operate? They were memories? Whose memories? How were they transmitted? What the actual hell was the point of all this? It seems the 828s are going to go through it all over again, with the NSA investigating the disappearance of the 11 people who combusted on the plane. How will that be explained? Are the passengers going to tell all, or stay mum? The young lady who had a baby in the detention center – her child no longer exists now. You think she’d be hysterical. Pushing Mick & Jared and Ben & Saanvi together only to rip them apart at the end was just stupid. The whole thing was just shambolic. Honestly I think LOST did a better job.

  2. Everything is connected is just a clever trick that allows the characters to go on endless (useless) quests from season one to seasons 4 almost like in a video game .
At the end nothing makes sense and there’s no explanation to any of the mysteries .
The mysteries were just a way to keep viewers curious through a complete mess of a plot.
