Bupkis Twitter Reactions: Netizens Enjoy Joe Pesci and Sebastian Stan’s Act and Comedy

Comedy has always existed, but this new genre of using the self as a punching bag for humour has taken the internet by storm. In accordance, Peacock expands its roster with a new comedy show, and the Bupkis Twitter reactions are already heralding this as a poignant, deeply hilarious comedy. Starring Pete Davidson, Joe Pesci and Edie Falco, this show takes a look at Davidson’s life through a fictional lens.

While the cameos will feature Bobby Cannavale, Ray Romano, Brad Garrett, Charlie Day, Kenan Thompson, Sebastian Stan, Steve Buscemi, Method Man, Jon Stewart, Chase Sui Wonders, Machine Gun Kelly, John Mulaney, and many more, fans have already decided that Sebastian Stan in this show is a marvel (pun intended). There are eight episodes in this series, all of which dropped simultaneously on May 4, 2023.

The show has already taken the internet by storm because of the way the fictionalised Pete Davidson leads his life in the series. He has made it clear that humour will not stop him from making poignant or deeply philosophical observations about himself and the people around him.

In the first few seconds of the trailer already, we get a look at how the public perception of the comedian and the way his life actually went are so far apart. This series is a fictional exploration of his life, with his mother being the reluctant moral compass throughout all of this. There are some interesting stories from his life, including stealing a glaive. The humour edges on profanity and definitely tries to push the envelope for what is considered to be funny or not.

Meanwhile, this character has learnt that he can no longer continue to be the immature, childish version of himself. Sometimes, being an adult just means doing whatever you want, and sometimes, that means getting a tattoo that definitely hurts you. Other times, you decide to go on adult dates and be a gentleman. But then they closely analyse you and pick out all your tendencies with a fine-toothed comb. However, now the deal is that everyone knows Pete, or at least they assume to.

A still from the show

But he is still feeling the first effects of fame, of finding out that people enjoy commenting about him and making a spectacle. Amazingly, he speaks of that exact same thing while inviting public discourse about his life through this show. Fortunately, most reactions have focussed on how good the acting and the humour have been in the show. Joe Pesci has been leading the charge in having the most tweet dedications, given his stellar comedic performance in the show.

Funnily enough, there hasn’t been any Emmy buzz in the comments just yet. However, as people discover the show by themselves and see how good it is, there may be more chatter about the Academy Awards.
