Set in Italy, the story will follow Robert McCall, as he is trying to start a new life after giving up his job as a government assassin. He is trying to make peace with the brutal and horrific things that he had to do because of his job but now he wants to make a difference by serving justice on behalf of the oppressed.

In the trailer, we see that starting a new life, Robert is able to find some peace with the people that he met. He starts to believe that this is where he is supposed to be, away from all the (evident) violence. Until the infamous mafia comes after his newfound friends, threatening the peaceful life that he had built.

But from the looks of it, the fight to protect his friends might not be all that easy as his opponent is not someone that should be taken so easily. In the last few seconds of the trailer, we also saw Dakota Fanning joining Washington after almost 20 years of filming the movie, Man on Fire. In the clip, she asks him if he was the one to kill all the people found on a farm in Sicily.

This takes us back to the first scene from the trailer, where Robert is seen giving nine seconds to his abductors. Continuing the same, we see how he tackles all of the gunned men in a matter of seconds, yet pretends to Dakota that ‘does he even look like a killer’?

The first film in the series was released in 2014, where we saw David Harbour as Masters, coming face to face with Robert. While the second instalment in 2018 saw Pedro Pascal as Dave York, going against the protagonist. Similar to the last two films, the final one will only come back with a bigger action.
