Asteroid City: Margot Robbie, Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson Among Wes Anderson’s Stellar Cast For Upcoming Movie

Celebrated American filmmaker who is known for his artistic films is returning with a brand-new movie called Asteroid City. Directed and written by Andersen alongside Roman Coppola, the plot of the movie will follow world-changing events and how they affect the citizens of the fictional town. Robert Yeoman is the cinematographer and Alexandre Desplat gives the music.

Earlier today, the official poster of the movie was released along with the entire cast list. The ensemble cast consists of talented actors across generations that will be featured in the movie. Anderson is reuniting with Margot Robbie and Tom Hanks from The French Dispatch, and Scarlett Johansson, who lent her voice in the Isle of Dogs, is also included in the long list of names.

Other names include Jason Schwartzman, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Maya Hawke, Steve Carrell, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Matt Dillon, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan and Jeff Goldblum. Most actors have previously worked with the director.

The movie takes place in a fictional American Town. Set in the 1950s, a Space Cadet convention is held in the small town. The motive behind the convention was to bring the fellow parents and students together from across the country for a fellowship and scholarly competition. However, the event is disrupted by certain outer worldly incidents, which leaves the entire town flabbergasted.

Wes Anderson is particularly known for his unique visual and narrative styles in his movies. He focuses not only on bringing forward distinctive plots but also on delivering an eccentric cinematic experience that no one has achieved. The themes surrounding his movies are uncommon and incorporated with a symmetrical style of cinematography which he has been consistently showcasing in his films.

With an ensemble cast of many talented and acclaimed actors, the movie seems promising just by looking at the poster. The official first trailer of the movie will be released tomorrow (March 29), which will finally provide an overview of the movie. Are you excited about the trailer? Produced by American Empirical Pictures and Indian Paintbrush and distributed by Focus Features, the movie is set to have a limited screening on June 16, 2023. On June 23, 2023, the movie will be available for a wider audience.
