Servant Season 4 Ending Explained: Has Leanne Unlocked Something Dark in Julian?

Apple TV+ just released the last episode of their acclaimed psychological thriller show and to tie it all up and compile it for you, here is the Servant season 4 ending explained. This show is created by Tony Basgallop and executive produced by the legendary director M Night Shyamalan. It stars Lauren Ambrose, Nell Tiger Free, Toby Kebbell, Rupert Grint, and other cast members.

The most recent season of the show, Servant Season 4 released all of its 10 episodes, all of them ranging from 25-36 minutes. The finale is titled ‘Fallen’ and is directed by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala. This series follows a small family in Philadelphia when a significant loss leaves them helpless and needy for support. When Leanne comes into their home, things become better for the worse.

Servant Season 4 Ending Explained

This season starts with the disillusioned family barely coming to terms with Leanne’s existence in the family. They are already scared of her because she has been terrorising the family, hurting them and finding new ways to exact her revenge on the people around her, especially those who have made her angry.

When Dorothy comes back from the hospital, she is confined to the bed and cannot move around, not even to take care of Jericho, which becomes the linchpin for this whole sequence of events taking place. Since there is so much mistrust for Leanne from Dorothy’s side, and Sean hasn’t bothered shifting to her side, she has been ignoring him and Julian like the plague. They may try their best to make her feel comfortable and to help her out with things around the house but she does not give them any recognition whatsoever for these efforts.

She is madder at Julian because he has been engaging in a sexual and romantic relationship with Leanne and has no qualms about letting them know. Meanwhile, Sean is awakened to Leanne’s subterfuge by Bev and Bobby who have started coming in to help out Dorothy full-time with everything so that Leanne cannot come any closer to them. She is already suspicious of the caretaking duo and even rips Bev’s shirt after the seance to make sure she is not actually from the Church of the Lesser Saints.

Every now and then we get a look at someone from the Church of the Lesser Saints in the episode. In fact, the Turners even host multiple parties where they try to sniff out the person that works for the Church in order to get Leanne out of the house. They do manage to find people to take Leanne out but they’re never successful in killing or eliminating her from the house at least. It gets so bad that Uncle George has to come in and reassure them that Leanne is not actually a supernatural being, she is just a girl who enjoys plotting and destroying.

Dorothy has been feeling a dread that she has been missing out on something, and she has since the first season not known anything about Jericho or his death. Sean and Julian finally tell her the truth in order to gain some upper hand over her, but Leanne flips the table and offers Dorothy to bring back Jericho for good this time. And then we get to see a whole new side to the rivalry, where the two of them embrace their relationships with each other and the parent-child love blooms between them.

Now that Leanne has achieved everything she has set out to do, she decides to bring the end to her. The world seems to be flooding because of her and people may lose their lives for no joy. She does the ritual Uncle George has been trying to perform on her and immolates herself in the house fire. The next morning, the police officers come at a bright morning and a clear sky to see the Turners washed up and alone outside the rubble of their house.

Julian goes to get coffee and is stopped by Officer Reyes who lets him know that he has a second chance with his life and he can do good with it. Officer Reyes being revealed as a member of the Church of the Lesser Saints is truly concerning. Her talk with Julian established something from the second season that finally made its appearance. He looks in the glass and sees angel wings on him, a very concerning detail following the name of the episode ‘Fallen.’

The last few shots indicate that there is something much bigger coming for Julian and the final look into the camera lens is all the more telling that the story following the Turners is not over just yet.
