SM Entertainment Details Plans for NCT’s Expansion, Artist Releases and More About the ‘SM 3.0’ Era

Sharing the blueprint of their upcoming plans for the SM 3.0 Era, SM Entertainment has just dealt out some good news for NCT and its fans alike. The latest video released on the SMTOWN YouTube channel seeks to address fan queries as part of the long running sessions that have been recorded in the past three weeks. For today’s announcements, Co-CEOs Chris Lee and Young-jun Tak sit down in front of the camera to lay out their company’s promises to the artists and fans.

The first question is raised about how SM will protect its artists in the future, and for that both short-term and long-terms plans are listed out. From setting up a new platform to report slander, filtering fake news with AI, blocking haters, to legislating stricter tactics on hate contents, SM CEOs have spoken greatly about the measures they will be resorting to.

Thereafter the impact of SM 3.0 on artists is studied. This will not only counter the previous haphazard order of artist comebacks by disclosing the schedules beforehand, it will also balance and evenly distribute activities to accord the artists with equivalent extent of attention. Moreover, NCT’s ‘limitless’ concept is finally coming to an end, thereby reworking the system that has governed the group so far.

NCT (NCT 127, NCT Dream, also known as 7Dream, and WayV) fans have often complained about the ever-expanding concept taken on by the group that has hampered the growth of members who don’t always get equal opportunities to promote their art. Initially having targeted the to-be-formed Hollywood and Saudi Arabia sub-units of the group, the new establishments of the upcoming era puts an end to it all. The forthcoming Tokyo based sub-unit will rather shape up as the last introduction to the grand scale expansion of the K-pop group.

The ‘infinite expansion’ concept will finally be concluded with this debut, further restricting the shifts within the pre-existing units of the music act in order to support and promote the existing order of things and the members involved.
