The Last of Us Episode 5 Review
Keeping up with the tradition of blowing our minds, The Last of Us Episode 5 starts with a brief context about Henry and Sam (two brothers on the run from the out-of-control revolutionary group). And finds them collaborating with Joel and Ellie, in an attempt to find a safer escape route from the parameters of the city.
The rest of the plot follows them learning about each other’s survival story and bonding over the debris of the apocalypse. Followed by Kathleen’s need for revenge on Henry, and her eventual entanglement in a spiral of self-destruction (something that doesn’t come to a soothing end at all).

The episode features a usual wave of tension that underlines the trajectory of events. And helps to unfold the dismal set of circumstances which eventually lead to a heart-wrenching climax. Notably, there are enough moments that will make you grasp your breath, and also wholeheartedly root for your all-time favourite duo. All of these simply elevate the stature of the series once again, after the filler events of the previous episode.
Furthermore, the episode also puts my complaint of fewer clickers at a complete rest. And makes sure that is not something I’ll ever ask again in the future. There is enough clicker action in the instalment, including a special treat for the fans of some hand-to-hand combat between zombies and humans (I judge you, people).

The scale of performances in the series is simply outstanding. No matter if it’s a small cameo or an entire episodic arc, there are zero compromises over the depth of the characters, which just goes on to prove its massive popularity online. Moreover, each episode feels like a detailed venture into the world of Joel and Ellie, filled with streaks of unaccountable danger.
All in all, this has to be one of the most heartbreaking points in the series. Which will definitely put you in a state of unrest and awe for the pitch-perfect video game adaptation. A word of advice — don’t expect any happy endings.
Final Thoughts

The episode brings back the robust action and thrill into the series and makes sure to keep us on our toes until the very last moment. Moreover, it also quenches the thirst for some hardcore clicker rampage.
