Our favourite month of the year is here! Filled with glittery balls, carol songs, and Santa Claus pranks, the Christmas season is loved globally. Who won’t love snuggling in bed and watching Christmas rom-coms? But why does it always have to be that way? For a change, let’s spice up your festive season with these Christmas horror movies that will give you a Halloween and Jingle Bells vibe. You can even cuddle with your loved ones while watching these movies *wink wink*. That said, let’s check the list of movies.
7 Christmas Horror Movies to Not Miss Out
Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale (2010)
Rare Exports is a Finnish film that has one of the most unique plots I’ve personally seen. The movie starts out with an excavation team finding a burial site in Finland. Surprisingly, it is the site where Santa Claus could have been buried (so Santa is dead?). When the team begins the excavation, something terrible happens, which irritates the neighbour, Rauno, who appears to be a reindeer slaughterer (why would he kill reindeer, oh no.)
The movie kicks off when Rauno visits the excavation and finds no one but a lanky old man. What happens next will surprise you, so if you wish to uncover the truth, you can watch it on Tubi. Note that this isn’t just a horror movie; it’s also pretty humorous. You’ll love it.

The Advent Calendar (2021)
When we speak of Christmas horror movies, a French movie has to be included because French cinema is one of the finest in the world. That said, The Advent Calendar is a great option to kill time during the festive season. The plot revolves around the protagonist, Eva, who longs to be free of her wheelchair and would do anything for it. When she receives the advent calendar, every day’s gift turns ominous and even invites a demon. Will she abide by the demon for her selfish purposes?
With obscene scenes and a combination of horror characters, this movie provides the conclusion neatly. Want to find out what happens to Eva as she welcomes the demon into her house? Stream now on Prime Video.
I Trapped the Devil (2019)
Hmm… can someone really trap a devil? Even Ed and Lorraine might not be able to answer that well, but our main protagonist, Steve, has an answer. I Trapped the Devil is a movie about how Steve locks a man in his basement for months, thinking he is a devil in human form. When things seem to be going normally for Steve, a surprise visit from his brother and sister-in-law for Christmas stirs up the chaos.
Will Steve persuade his brother and sister-in-law, or will he lock them up as well? Is the man in the basement really the devil who’ll end up killing someone? Or is the devil Steve himself? Find it out by watching it on Prime Video.
Anna and the Apocalypse (2018)
If you’re a fan of the zombie apocalypse, then this movie will please you well with its Christmas vibe. After Anna’s high school Christmas show tragically ends with Zombie’s interruption, Anna and her friends try to survive. But does the plan go smoothly? Of course not! Watch and enjoy this musical zombie Christmas horror movie with your family members on Prime Video. Note that there are gruesome scenes, so avoid watching them with children.

Mercy Christmas (2017)
Yes, you read it right. Mercy Christmas isn’t just a horror movie, but a horror-comedy cannibalistic movie! Just like his other single pals, Michael, who yearns for true love, finally finds his dream woman. After a wonderful time, he gets invited to her family’s house to spend his holidays with her and her family. Isn’t it amazing to be with your girl’s family and have a great Christmas time? But sadly, Michael later finds out that he is the family’s “Christmas dinner.” Will he escape? Watch and find out for yourself on Prime Video.
Inside (2018)
Inside is an awfully disturbing movie, and it is advised not to be watched by someone who is pregnant or has recently lost someone. Anyway, moving on to the plot, Sarah and her husband meet in a car crash on Christmas eve, which leaves Sarah a widow. As a pregnant woman, Sarah tries her best to live her life until a psychopath traumatizes her. Not just a psychopath but one who loves to tear things with scissors—now you know how to link it up. You can watch this French movie on Prime Video and check whether Sarah gives birth or gets brutally murdered.
P2 (2007)
Stalkers really give me chills. I mean, the audacity they have to stalk a person and try to own them is disgusting. That said, P2 is a movie about a young, hard-working woman who finishes her work late on Christmas Eve. As she tries to return home after working a whole day, someone waits for her in the parking lot. Not just someone, but the security guard who won’t let her leave. You can watch the movie P2 on Prime Video and witness how the lady fights the creep.
