This looks to be something that would show up in the first episode because the regret of not being able to save his love while he is brought back to life has brought him to a state of confusion, as he asks these questions which should have come after some blood-shedding.

The scene shifts to Naksu who thinks about the wound that she has incurred and it looks like her memories of her time as Mu-deok are distorted. And that is why, while Jang Uk’s jade shines in front of her, the two are not able to recognise each other.

Then we see him holding Naksu’s sword which holds his sorrows and anger as spoken by the crown prince who wants to help him at this point. While Seo Yul sees the face he loved stand in front of him and is unable to tell her the truth that she has forgotten.
