Series Overview

The Golden Spoon (금수저) is a drama-thriller TV series directed by Song Hyun-wook and stars Yook Sung-jae, Lee Jong-won, Jung Chae-yeon, Yeon Woo and Choi Dae-chul, alongside other cast members.

The series takes over MBC’s Friday-Saturday 10 PM KST timeslot, previously occupied by Big Mouth. The series is based on the webcomic Geumsujeo by gp04fb on Naver.

Lee Seung-cheon is a poor student whose family isn’t able to afford much. Tired of not being able to enjoy the niceties of life, Seung-cheon meets a mysterious old woman who gives him a mysterious golden spoon. He can use the spoon to switch lives with another person, but he only gets three chances to make up his mind. So, will Seung-cheon choose his own family or give it all away for a life of wealth and luxury?

Disney+ synopsis of the show reads: “A child from a poor family acquires a “golden spoon” that can swap him with his rich friend and allow him a life that he always dreamed of.”

The series will stream from September 23 to November 12, 2022, at 10 PM KST on MBC. The Golden Spoon episode 8 will release on October 15, 2022, at 8 PM IST on Disney+.

Seung-cheon enters the lavish scenes of the rich through Jun-tae while Oh Yeon-jin humiliates Ju-hee with money. On the other hand, a DNA test is hinting towards a murder case while Ju-hee has found out a big secret.

The Golden Spoon Episode 7 Recap

The Golden Spoon episode 7 shows Seung-cheon going back to Tae-yong’s life while Hyun-do erases everything related to his son meeting President Na. However, Ju-hee is not convinced of her father’s death was because of a heart attack and wants to find the real reason.

Seung-cheon helps out his family in a very subtle way while finding out Jun-tae’s deeds of buying the Na company’s shares and blocking the way. While this anger Jun-tae, it also gives rise to suspicions that turn his attention to the night of President Na’s murder and Tae-yong.

Elsewhere, Seung-cheon informs Ju-hee of the misdeeds her brothers are planning behind her which are soon to cause her harm while Oh Yeon-jin plans to get Seung-cheon under her control.

Sending CEO Oh to create chaos in the Lee family, she is soon able to find Seung-cheon’s weak point when Tae-yong’s reckless behaviour makes Seung-cheon rush over. This leaves behind a bad impression on Hyun-do which makes him want to teach his son a lesson with the help of Alex Boo.

Later, Jun-tae tells Seung-cheon about getting his investment from Alex Boo back while subtly hinting towards President Na’s murder. Seung-cheon is confused until the police arrive to arrest him on the charges of murder.
