House of the Dragon Episode 2 Reactions: Viewers are Freaking Out Over the New Intro Theme

House of the Dragon Episode 2 was released a few hours ago and the viewers are freaking out over the newly released full intro theme and everything that happened in the episode. The theme is making people nostalgic about the Game of Thrones but the new visuals with the red blood are intriguing them to dissect and see what all elements are shown in the video.

The new episode showed Rhaenyra trying to reinforce her authority and realising her position remains the same in the Red Keep. King Viserys is urged to secure succession through marriage, while a budding romance emerges between him & Alicent Hightower and Daemon announces his intentions to take the Iron throne, by any means.

After watching the episode of HOTD, viewers are getting frustrated by the King’s decisions and mock his one-track thinking about getting a male heir. Also, the character growth in Alicent Hightower is reminding everyone of the infamous character of Cersei Lannister and compares both of them. Even though she is being pushed by her father Otto Hightower, she also seems to be calculating her moves and doesn’t look as naive and innocent as she was deemed to be in the pilot.

Still from House of the Dragon Episode 2

Talking about comparison, Princess Rhaenyra’s entrance into the Dragonstone castle when Prince Daemon was trying to intimidate the Hand of the king and the soldiers, who came to take the dragon egg, is hailed as spectacular as her grand-grand-grand… Daughter Daenerys entrance on her dragons in major scenes.

The majority seem to be rooting for the Princess and it will be interesting to see how she will deal with the fact that the King is marrying Alicent Hightower and as the preview suggests, her claim to the throne seems to be in danger. While others, who are fans of the series for all the gory violent actions and bloodshed, are rooting for Prince Daemon.

With only two episodes released as of now, House of the Dragon has already broken some records and lived up to the hype it has created. The first two episodes have introduced us to the main characters and their inner conflicts that will form the narrative for the rest of the series. With what is revealed yet, we can expect a lot more coming up in the following weeks.

I love films, except maybe horror films.

  1. My only complaint, and I haven’t seen anyone else mention it, is that the dragons seem to have extra long necks. And smaller heads. Like the dragons from GOT were perfect minus their coloring. These ones have color but are misproportioned
