Trapped In A Dating Sim Episode 10 Review- An Awkward Battle

Trapped In A Dating Sim Episode 10 Festival

With the situation between Leon, Angelica, and Olivia far from resolved, any meeting between the three was always going to be awkward. However, none of them have forgotten what each of the others have done from them, or in Leon’s case, what he has taken from them. It seems like we are heading towards a resolution sooner rather than later for multiple reasons. For one, the show’s in-game plot has been moving forward at a frightening pace, something that worries Leon more than anyone. For another, there are only two episodes left in this season for the show.

Leon now outranks all of his peers, which is a fantastic development, all things considered. He might not like it, for it raises him above the characterisation of “Mob” that he likes to impose upon himself, but he is the noble this world deserves. It might not be him messing with the world right now, as Marie has taken that mantle, but he did start it. His arc right now is to make things as they should have been before he and Marie appeared, which isn’t exactly an easy thing to accomplish. He is not doing well at the moment, but that could change anytime.

The state of Olivia reigns heavily over Leon’s and the entire show’s conscience, and rightfully so. She is uniquely positioned as one of the better written and least thought-of consequences of an isekai such as this, and anything the show does with her is breaking new grounds. She didn’t get to do much in Trapped In A Dating Sim Episode 10, but there was a lot of discussion and content that revolved around her, making her more of a central figure than Leon himself. Things might not be good for her right now, but Leon can be expected to fix at least some of it by the end of the season.

The consequence of all the meddling is the constant state of influx and war the world is in. This time around, it is a rogue nation that seems to be the issue, and Leon is to be assisted by another of the disgraced love interests. This is a very video game-like development which fits the show a lot. The meeting of different love interests in different situations trope has been used to great effect here, as it allows for Leon to interact with them separately and win them over that way. He might not be the person these situations were intended for, but he would be damned if he didn’t make full use of them.

Trapped In A Dating Sim Episode 10 also looked better than a lot of its previous episodes, as the different setting and the traditional Japanese character designs were right up the animators’ wheelhouse. It was also quite funny, but that’s just the series in general. One would hope that the series would gain a little more appreciation from people who gave it one look and not a second more by now, as it has been receiving quite strong word-of-mouth support. Well, the biggest indicator of that would be if this gets a second season.

Verdict

Trapped In A Dating Sim Episode 10 was another great episode which featured a lot of what has become the show’s calling card. There was romance, drama, action, and everything else you might have expected.
