Akshay Kumar Apologises to Fans for Tobacco Commercial, “Promise to be Extremely Mindful”

Akshay Kumar recently appeared in a tobacco commercial featuring Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan. Khiladi Kumar’s fans were unhappy to see their actor being the brand ambassador of a product from which he has always made citizens aware of staying away. As soon as the commercial came out, many fans took to social media to slam him and make memes. The Bachchhan Paandey actor realised he had upset his fan and apologised to them.

On his social media pages, Akshay Kumar shared a note in which he not only apologised to his fans but also decided to step down as the brand ambassador. He promised to be careful with his choices in future. Akshay wrote, “I am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi. With all humility, I step back.”

The post continues, “I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes.”

In the reply section, fans have reacted to his post. One person wrote, “Real Men accept the mistake & accepting the mistake makes you even greater.. It shows how much imp your Fans are for you.. ❤️”. Another commented, “Superstar for a reason????….U don’t deserve all those hates sir.”
