Twenty Five Twenty One: Will There Be a Season 2?

Twenty Five Twenty One finale aired on Sunday, and fans still can’t stop talking about it. The Korean Netflix drama starred Nam Joo-hyuk as Baek Yi-jin and Kim Tae-ri as Na Hee-do. The makers took their sweet time developing a wonderful love story between Yi-jin and Hee-do. Fans fell in love with the couple, who intensely fell for each other. But little did they know that things were not going to be well in the end.

After Twenty Five Twenty One Episode 16 ended, fans were heartbroken. They can’t believe that their favourite on-screen couple has not ended together. A Kdrama rarely has an ending that’s not happy for two people in love. At the same time, some have accepted the ending and called it the reality of life when it comes to first love. Some people really wished the makers had something else in mind.

Will There Be Twenty Five Twenty One Season 2?

Now, coming to the big question – Will there be a season 2 for Twenty Five Twenty One? Well, that seems highly unlikely. Usually, Netflix Korean shows have only one season. Even if the ending felt incomplete for some viewers, the last episode has shown us all the lives of Hee-do and Yi-jin after their big break-up. It’s unlikely that after giving a meaningful end to the show and their relationship, the makers would try to take the story forward.

So, season 2 won’t happen unless the makers decide to tell a new story with new faces. It seems like fans will have to live with the fact that Hee-do and Yi-jin didn’t end up together and are living their separate lives while still loving each other.

Meanwhile, Leisurebyte’s review of the finale episode mentions, “Ah, what a heartfelt end to a great show! It wraps everything up great and ends everything on a high. You watch everything come together as easily as everything else. It’s so easy and lightweight, yet so heavy with emotions.” Read more here.

  1. #TwentyFiveTwentyOne #TwentyFiveTwentyOneFinale
One of the best in 2022 ❤️
Season 2 please or special episode of Na Hee Do marriage/ family, Back Yi Jin single for seven years??, Seung wan Love life ???? Marriage of Yurim & Jiwoong ???? #TVN #KimTaeRi #NamJooHyuk #Netflix

  2. Why would it have to be with different faces ?why can’t they be together? do like a seven years later both hee-do and ye-jin are single and they find a way to rekindle their love or something I don’t know but y’all can’t leave us on a cliffhanger like that. What do older ye-jin look like and what does he do now. Say they accidentally bump into each other I don’t know but this isn’t right

  3. I am really heartbroken after watching episode 14. Even I’m too afraid to watch further cuz it will give me heart attack. I don’t know how to take the courage to watch last 2 episodes????

  4. I think Season 2 is STILL possible….however the story with a twist, turn out Hee Do did marry Yi jin. Since the story never reveal who Hee Do’s husband was , Yi jin could be her husband!
    .
In this season 2, the story is about how Hee Do and Yi jin try to back together and reconcile. We will see Yi jin try to pursue Hee Do again..more fun if Park Da Eun character involves, she become Hee Do’s new rival. How about that?
In season 2 we also see Yu rim and Ji woong busy preparing their wedding and we can see how Seung Wan try date Yi jin’s brother.
We never can have enough of Yi jin and Hee Do romance after they become couple.
I refused to accept the reasons given by writer why both of them break up…….the writer was wrong!!….Before that we saw their love so strong for each other, so it ALMOST impossible for them to breakup…..unfortunately our evil thinking producer/ writer decided to kill it.

Who said long distance relationship is not possible? Look at Yu Rim and Ji woong. Are they saying its not possible for a reporter to fall in love and married and have family just because their daily love super busy?? Look at Hee Do’s mom.
Like Hee Do’s said in 1st episode, ” Everyone deserve to pee”!!….likewise Hee Do and Yi jin deserve the happy ending.
So season 2 is POSSIBLE!….*the only thing the writer must explain the existence of Kim Min Chae.

  5. Hmm well it seems the ending would not have a season 2 but didnt the mom mention to Hee Do at one point that she saw Ji Yin?? Plus what about the wedding for Yu Rim and Ji woong? Who is the little girls father? Did Ji Yin ever marry? Was he just single? Too many questions left in the air so please Netflix let there be a season 2 with the SAME characters.

  6. Very disappointed with the ending. The writers and producers have got to fix it. Too much sadness in the real world. Let us escape from the sadness. If the writers and producers keep making shows like this so many of us will loose interest and then what. The writers and producers won’t have jobs. It seems like they are toying with us, the viewers. The last laugh will be on us cause we won’t be seeing Netflix if shows with unhappy ending continue.
