Fans have been so excited to see BTS perform on stage at the American Music Awards 2021 along with rapper Megan Thee Stallion. However, looks like the good news has just turned bad because the performance is no longer going to take place. The news is more heartbreaking because the Butter remix by the artists did light hopes in everyone’s hearts how amazing their collaboration would look on stage.
Initially, the boy band had announced on their Twitter handle about this collaborative performance writing: “We’re so excited to be bringing you the WORLD PREMIERE performance of “#BTS_Butter” in person at the @AMAs with our friend @theestallion!???? Watch Sunday, November 21 at 8/7c on @ABCnetwork”. This tweet was followed by an enthusiastic response from Stallion who confessed that she was excited about the performance to happen.
Megan Thee Stallion Will No Longer Perform With BTS
However, on November 20, 2021, the WAP singer announced that due to “an unexpected personal matter” the performance will no longer be happening.

Even though everyone is taken aback by this announcement, fans are being understanding as Megan has lost someone very close to her. One of the comments mentioned the death of rapper Young Dolph is the reason for the cancellation as Megan was a really close friend of his and it has taken an emotional toll on her.
We hope Megan recovers from the personal tragedy she’s faced and comes out stronger.
Meanwhile, as for the ARMY, BTS and Coldplay are still scheduled to perform their joint single “My Universe” for the first time on stage at the American Music Awards 2021. The show will air on November 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
