Bob Biswas Trailer: Abhishek Bachchan Plays The Iconic Killer From Kahaani

Zee5 has dropped the Bob Biswas trailer which is scheduled to stream on the platform in December. The name of the film might ring bells to the iconic psychopath killer we met in Sujoy Ghosh’ Kahaani that was headlined by Sherni actress Vidya Balan. The mystery thriller focused on a woman’s story to find her missing husband while she hides some complicated secrets that give a climactic twist to the story.

In the original story, we witness veteran actor Saswata Chatterjee play the character of Bob Biswas, who is a killer on the loose. Saswata Chatterjee is well known in the Indian film industry for playing iconic roles such as Ajit in the Byomkesh Bakshi film franchise. However, the torch to play this impressionable character has been passed down to The Big Bull star Abhishek Bachchan. Prior to this film, we have seen Abhishek take on the role of an anti-hero in Amazon Prime’s 2020 thriller Breathe: Into the Shadows. Thus, seeing him play a more complicated character in the same genre will truly be impressive.

Bob Biswas Trailer: A Killer Of A Story

The trailer of the spin-off shows us the origin story of how Bob Biswas comes to be the man he is. Backed with memory loss and killer instincts, Abhishek Bachchan seems to deliver a fine performance as far the trailer goes with the exception of his inability to master the typical Bengali accent of the main character properly.

The cast is stellar as it includes actors like Chitrangada Singh, Rajatava Datta, Tina Desai, Ditipriya Roy and legendary icon Paran Bandopadhyay. The film is produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, along with Sujoy Ghosh’s Bound Script Production. It is directed by debutante Diya Annapurna Ghosh.
