It is rightly said, ‘People who love to eat are always the best people.’ As a foodie and a fan of the art of cooking, I’m grateful that there are some fantastic movies about food to watch. Ever since MasterChef Australia Season 13 got over, many fans, like myself, have felt a void that can only be filled with superb food content. Well, if you are one of those, you have come to the right place.
In this article, I’ll recommend some of my favourite mouthwatering and motivating movies about food for you to watch. I’m sure some of you are familiar with a few names on the list. However, for those unaware that food can be a major genre in film, it will be a new experience.

Chef
Jon Favreau doesn’t get nearly as much praise for Chef (2014) as he does for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr. It’s a joyful narrative that tells us how to rediscover our purpose in life after losing something significant. After losing his job at a restaurant, Chef Carl Casper starts a food truck. It sounds exhilarating, but the journey is not without its own set of difficulties. I’m sure that you’ll enjoy the film and can’t get enough of Favreau’s culinary prowess.
Julie & Julia
The 2009 film stars Amy Adams as Julie and Meryl Streep as Julia and is based on a true tale. Julia’s cooking style has always appealed to Julie. She decides to start a blog about her experiences cooking dishes from Julia’s cookbook. Julie & Julia features a stellar cast, scrumptious food, romance, drama, and comedy. The unexpected ending will stay with you, or you might Google more information as I did.
The Founder
McDonald’s has had an enormous impact on the lives of countless people. The ones who love their food will go on and on about their burgers and fries. In The Founder, Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton) was so charmed with the burgers that he wanted to be a part of the food chain. His career from salesman to CEO flipped like the delicious burgers. It’s a wild ride, and one feels sorry for the McDonald’s brothers. The movie is worth watching to know the back story of the world’s one of the largest fast-food companies.
Chef
Saif Ali Khan stars in the 2017 Hindi film Chef, based on Jon Favreau’s 2014 film. If you love Indian food, you’ll enjoy Raja Krishna Menon’s directorial. The acting is superb, the music is captivating, and watching Khan cook in the film is a pleasure to behold.

Ratatouille
How can I talk about movies about food and not mention Ratatouille? MasterChef Australia Season 13 showed us how anyone could make their cooking dreams true. Brad Bird has expressed the same notion in the Disney-Pixar movie by making Remi, a rat, the star. Remi’s understanding of food, cooking, and many cuisines is superior to that of chefs. It’s a sweet movie that will warm your heart.
The Lunchbox
We’ve all had food-related relationships with at least one person. Ila (Nimrat Kaur) and Saajan (Irrfan Khan) bond over the wrong tiffin box in Ritesh Batra’s The Lunchbox. They communicate through a note in the tiffin box, and Batra takes a compassionate approach in the narration. As a viewer, you’re interested in finding out what’s in the tiffin box and how Ila and Saajan’s story ends.
