Loki Season Finale Theory: He Who Remains Lied to Loki and Sylvie?

Loki Season Finale Theory: After the cliffhanger ending of Loki Episode 6, fans are coming up with multiple theories. Tom Hiddleston’s MCU show proved to be one of the best Marvel series on Disney+ so far. Nothing is the same anymore, whether it’s Loki-Sylvie or Mobius-Loki equation, the TVA and the entire universe.

Our Loki Season Finale theory consists of spoilers. In the last episode, MCU introduced us to the man who started the TVA – He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors). Everyone was confused because Majors will essay Kang The Conqueror in the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania. But as we dove deep into the episode, we got hints that Kang is one of the evil variants of He Who Remains.

In the last episode of Loki, He Who Remains tells Loki and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) that if they kill him, his other variants will awake, and there will be a multiversal war. He gives them another option – to rule the TVA so that he can take retirement and nothing terrible will happen. However, Sylvie kills He Who Remains, much to Loki’s disapproval and sends the God of Mischief to some other version of TVA.

Loki Season Finale Theory Still
Loki Season Finale Theory: Still from the episode

If you watch the episode, you’ll find He Who Remains quite notorious. He seemed like a guy who cannot easily trust. He also told Loki and Sylvie that he knows everything’s going to happen. So what’s the proof that his intentions were good when he gave both the Variants these options? That’s the Loki Season Finale theory I thought of. When I looked up the internet, I found that I’m not the only one who believes this.

On Reddit, a user has shared a similar Loki Season Finale theory stating that He Who Remains lied to Lokis. The person wrote, “So, I suppose that He Who Remains lied to Loki and Sylvie when he said he doesn’t know what will happen after they reach the threshold. It is absolutely not true, because when he took off his futuristic watch aka TemPad, he immediately moved it to the edge of the desk towards Sylvie. Why? Because he knew, what will happen next – she will betray Loki by sending him with his watch/TemPad to the TVA and then kill him.”

The user further added, “That was exactly his purpose – everything had to happen in specific order and time to bring the Best of all Kangs – The Conqueror – to the timeline. And death of He Who Remains is the only way, what causes his arrival.”

On Twitter, too, some fans believe the same Loki Season 1 Theory. One user tweeted, “What if He Who Remains lied? What if the previous multiversal war didn’t really happen? What if he knew that he (they) could only truly conquer a universe if there are multiple variants of himself from the other universe on one place and that’s why he let it happen.”
