7 Bad Tamil Horror Movies That Shouldn’t Have Been Made: Pottu, Aranmanai 2, Kanchana 3, and More

The cinema industry of southern India isn’t that bad, in fact, it’s pretty great. However, when we speak of the horror genre, Indian movies, overall, have to prep up because there’s too much drama than horror itself. Speaking of the down part of India, especially Kollywood, the horror movies are legit 50-50 because some are extremely terrible! Let’s check out some bad Tamil horror movies that will make one question what even the director thought of while executing the non-sensible film.

7 Bad Tamil Horror Movies

Pottu

Pottu, directed by Vadivudaiyan, is an absolute failure because, in almost all aspects, the plot is guzzled. A young guy Arjun (Bharath), tries to end his life by slitting his wrist after messing up in his academics. When his blood falls on the ground where a woman is buried, she possesses him to take revenge on her wrongdoers.

Firstly, this movie felt heavily influenced by Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana, where a female spirit possesses a male lead. The costumes, the dialogue, and the acting were so cringe. Moreover, the cinematography felt rushed, and the ending was absurd.

Devi 2

Starring Prabhudeva and Tamannaah Bhatia, Devi 2 shouldn’t have been made. Yes. The first part was fine because the cast was nice, the storyline was alright, and the comedy aspect made the movie feel good. But the second part was pointless. There was too much exaggeration, no horror aspects, and it felt dramatic.

The movie was shot in Mauritius, making the movie look expensive and inane. The songs also flopped in this movie because, in the previous part, every track was a bomb, and the dance choreography was on point.

Sowkarpettai

The director of Pottu gave another flop movie, Sowkarpettai, with a repeated storyline, bad casting, disturbing cinematography, and rhythmless songs. The movie follows the story of a couple who are all ready to get married. But sadly, they get brutally murdered by some businessmen. The spirits of the couple seek revenge, and that’s the movie’s plot. The flick had no flavor, no notable jumpscares and the makeup was hilarious. Lakshmi Rai and Srikanth’s possible worst movie would be this.

Aranmanai 2

Aranmanai had questionable aspects, but the movie did work well. Following that, the second part came out with full force and humiliated itself. Would you like to witness ghosts dancing sexily? Watch the outro of this movie because the female leads, including the woman who acted as the ghoul, dance with passion.

The entire movie had clickbait sort of scenes with female leads dressed up glamorously, and that’s actually the only reason why many watched the flick. Apart from that, nothing is there. There was too many religious stuff imprinted, and trust me, part 3 of the franchise is even more troublesome.

Kanchana 3

Again, this is a foolish part of a franchise that should stop. Kanchana movie was wonderful because the transperson plot and the act by Sarathkumar were brilliant. But after that, the other parts, especially the third one, only had four female leads for one guy. The random love story and the final between a Hindu goddess and five Christian exorcists were just unexplainable. Are they producing horror movies or igniting spiritual war among people?

Jithan 2

Why is it always the next part of a movie that lets down the reputation? Jithan was a splendid movie where a guy becomes invisible and tries to covet the girl he loves. While the movie ended tragically, it at least made sense, unlike the second part. Starring the same actor, Ramesh, the plot of Jithan 2 is okay, but the execution of it and the actors—tragic.

Pizza 2

Yes, as expected, the second part hit a rough patch. A couple finds paintings in a mansion only to realise that everything on it is happening in their life. The flick really is a disappointment, thanks to the ending.
