The countdown to the biggest kpop award has begun as the 2024 MAMA Awards nominations for this year’s ceremony were officially announced today, October 14. Taking place on November 21 at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, followed by events on November 22 and 23 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, this year’s awards mark a historic first, being held outside of East and Southeast Asia.
Eligible for nomination are songs and albums released between October 1, 2023, and September 30, 2024, and the awards will feature a diverse array of talent across 18 categories. The selection process combines evaluations from a panel of judges along with metrics like song downloads, streams, and physical album sales. Fans also have a chance to participate by voting for their favourites in the Worldwide Fans’ Choice category, with MAMA Awards 2024 voting starting today at 7 PM KST on the official Mnet app.
